Bride Groom Wedding Speech Tips
As the bride groom, you will need to answer to delivered speeches and issue your own to your beautiful new bride, along with a toast to the lovely maid of honor and the bridesmaids. The groom's wedding speech is usually the second speech to be made and follows the following general guidelines:
- Begin by thanking the previous speaker who has toasted you and your new bride. Also thank the guests for attending the wedding and for the gifts they have given.
- Thank the bride's parent's for raising such a lovely daughter and for welcoming you into their family.
- Thank your own parent's for raising you to be the man you are. You may want to include a funny memory or two here.
- Thank everyone who has helped with the planning and preparations of the wedding ceremony and reception. You can give a general "thank you to everyone who has helped us in planning this wedding. Your hard work and friendship are truly apprecitated." In turn, you may also want to specifically thank one or two people who provided exceptional help.
- Turn to your bride and say some nice things about her.
- Thank the youngest attendants for participating in the wedding: the flower girl, ring bearer, etc.
- Thank the best man (and perhaps relate a humorous memory that you've both shared). Thank the groomsmen/ushers.
- Finally, finish with some kind words to the maid of honor and the bridesmaids and thank them for all the help they've given the bride throughout the day. End with a toast to the bridesmaids.
Note: If there is no Master of Ceremony to oversee the speeches, at this point you should introduce the best man as the next speaker.
