Father Of The Bride Wedding Speech Tips

Your beautiful daughter is getting married and as the father of the bride, you need to prepare a father-of-the-bride wedding speech that will make her proud.

You will begin your speech in reply to the best man's toast, which will be directed to you, your wife, and the groom's parents (the father of the groom will also be making a reply). Variations of that toast will occur if there are divorced parents, remarried parents, etc. This will have to be worked out by the bridal couple and the associated parents before the wedding.

This is your chance to say all the wonderful things about your daughter that you've wanted to say. Bring up her wondeful qualities, her special talents, a few fond memories that you share. Acknowledge her mother (and/or step-mother, as the case may be) on having raised a wonderful daughter. Welcome the groom to your family and point out some of his great qualities. Finish with a toast to the bride and groom.

Remember to keep your speech short, within 3 to 4 minutes in length is appropriate. If it goes on too long, you will loose your audience, and there are other speakers, as well as events, that still need to follow.
